The song on this EP that stands out as the most different one. The Storm is pompous and progressive, it has the most tracks, and unlike other tracks a female singer – with a breath taking performance.

About the song production

This song was written around the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic. I happened to have the weirdest "flu" ever around February and early March 2023. It was a rollercoaster of a flu that went on for 6 weeks.

I already though I had recovered and in the midst of healthier, clearer moment, I sat in front of our piano and wrote a big part of what would become the melodies and chords on this song.

The arrangement of the song was a piece of work. I wanted to combine the parts written on piano with some guitar riffs that dated back almost 10 years, and at times it didn't seem to fit together.

The writing of this song seemed to take forever. But in the end, I feel like I managed to pull the "piano version" and "guitar version" of the song together rather well.

The last task was to write lyrics. I had some ideas myself, but couldn't pull of a full lyric I was happy with. So I decided to ask for some assistance with the lyrics for the first time.

I hired a Croatian musician Zoe Maria, who did a great job with the lyrics. Her work really completed my ideas, even though my brief was intentionally very vague. The lyrics are mostly hers but I added some of my original ideas.

I had a certain kind of a voice in mind for this song, and Amy Faith Morley was the perfect choice. She did an amazing jobs with the vocals.

By this point Giovanni Cilio from Italy and Klym Lysiuk had become my trusted drummer and bassist, respectively. And once again, I, Mikko Latva-Koivisto, play the guitar parts.

The song was released on August 21st, 2021, so it took 1,5 years of ideation, arrangement, digestion and mixing to finish it.

I happened to listen to some of the first versions with Amy's vocals when a thunderstorm hit. It was a breathtaking experience, listening to the song while walking in the midst of a real storm.

Lyrics

There's no more time left to waste,

No need for sudden haste

We are all here on borrowed time

In only a second, it's all gone

You'll have to leave this place

When you see it going to waste

Blue skies turn to grey

And dark clouds block your way

But don't you worry now

I'm right here for you

Even if the sun fades

And you

Feel the storm rise inside of you

And you

Feel the storm rise inside of you

Yeah now you're like a storm, free of chains

There is nowhere to rest

You're always a guest

One minute it feels warm

Next you're out in the storm

But don't you worry now

I'm right here for you

Even if the sun fades

Even if the sun fades

And you

Feel the storm rise inside of you

And you

Feel the storm rise inside of you

Yeah now you're like a storm, free of chains

Find me shelter

Through these stormy times

‘Till the end of time

Find me shelter

Through these stormy times

‘Till the end of time

So we

Keep on fighting

Through these stormy times

‘Till the end of time

When the storm comes as a rescue

And you

Feel the storm rise inside of you

And you

Feel the storm rise inside of you

Yeah now you're like a storm, free of chains

Yeah now you're like a storm, free of chains
